I've been in contact with Double Diamond and White Bluff Resorts management/customer service departments.
I have filed complaints against White Bluff Resort, aka Double Diamond Resort Properties.
They have tried to ignore me. They have lied to me. They have made piddeling offers to appease me.
The lies continue and I feel like they don't care about what is happening. So, I guess I will try to spread the word as to what happend to me, in the hope that others won't fall for the same thing.

really you didnt get your free golf clubs?? WOW,you got it real hard man.
My dad is the Senior VP at Double Diamond and it's a great company that makes spectacular award winning golf courses. so go buy your own damn clubs and play somewhere else.
We received a similar offer but with higher income qualifications and no mention of the kid in college clause. I think we'll skip it. Sounds like a bunch of drama.

Believe me when I say I am uniquely qualified to be commenting about these matters. I happen to know a great deal about the sales practices at these resorts. I realize this happened over three years ago but this blog is still here so I am too.
I will speak directly to the author of this blog, maybe this wil shed some light for others. Yes, the qualifications change from time to time. Yes, it can feel like you have been singled out when you have you get caught up in the crossfire. I can assure you this is not the case, however. The qualifications are in place because an overwhelming volume of data paints a profile of a potential customer.
You have said yourself that you had no intention of buying and you just wanted the free clubs. Is it not the responsibity of any business to maximize it's profits? Your experience is the exception rather than the rule. Standards must be drawn somewhere and it is unfortunate, but inevitable, that some people are left out.
We were property owners at The Cliffs, and traded to The Retreat to be closer to my husbands work. The Retreat and golf course are beautiful, however the staff is rude and had made my husband and his guests feel unwelcome. 3 months after our trade we tried to return to The Cliffs, which for 2 years had LOVED going to. Double Diamond for 4 months had ingnored our requests to move back, and our complaints of the service. All along we had threatened to stop paying and give the property back, but as long as we kept making a payment nobody returned our calls. 30 days after our missed payment was due Double Diamond contacted me, and after I explained the situation, they were going to get back to me. But, they didn't, a real estate agent who did not work for Double Diamond called & was making insulting options for us. Also, from minute to minute his offers changed. Ex: We had to upgrade the purchase amount of our property by $20,000 to go back to the Cliffs, and when I said that was unacceptable, he called back less than 2 minutes later (yes,I checked my call log) and told me that Double Diamond would make an exception and required only a $10,000 upgrade to trade back. This is highway robbery. Our paperwork states to trade propeties you have to upgrade, but it does not give a dollar amount or percentage required, and a 36% increase in an outrage. We had never been late on a payment, and had actually paid extra each month. They are now pulling hard inquires on my credit which is causing my score to go down. This is fraud, I have not in 12 months giving permission to pull my credit, not verbally, by internet, fax, phone, or in writing. I am contacting the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. This was something my husband and I had planned on for our retirement. Shame on Double Diamond.
